The Old Fart is about a the kind of old man that is comfortable with scratching himself in public, ogling young girls, being smarmy and even when he is being reproached, thinks that he was being cute or funny. In fact The Old Fart is generally amused with himself and is comfortable with the negative attention he receives. In this painting The Old Fart is depicted as a dragon, scratching himself, happy in his surroundings. He is standing outside of his cave, which acts as a portal to his own private reality.
The Old Fart is a framed piece that was first exhibited in the April 1998, U of T Thesis Art Show, 13@360° along with Ova (at the 360° Art Gallery, in Toronto, Ontario). |
